Portfolio of Work

Six case studies.
One consistent standard.

Each case study covers the opportunity, approach, tools used, outcome, and what I learned. Real work, real numbers, nothing embellished.

All Case Studies

From opportunity to impact. Every time.

Case Study 01 TVA Website Redesign
Sitefinity CMSHTML/CSS/BootstrapAccessibility Reviews
Overview

Sitefinity CMS has been the backbone of my daily work at TVA. Over four years I’ve built, maintained, and published content across nearly every corner of TVA.com, from program pages to time-sensitive news and regulatory content. This isn’t just publishing. It means translating business unit needs into well-structured pages, and ensuring everything meets TVA’s standards for quality and accessibility before going live.

Key Responsibilities
Managed and published contentAcross TVA.com for programs including TVA Fun, Transmission Projects, NEPA Reviews, and Aquatic Weeds.
Configured page templatesContent blocks, navigation, and layouts.
Applied HTML, CSS, and BootstrapTo enhance functionality and UX.
Conducted QA testingAccessibility reviews and content validation before every publish.
Supported redesignsContent migrations, and new feature rollouts.
Collaborated with business unitsTo gather requirements and resolve issues.

Two examples of this ongoing work show what it looks like in practice, shown below.

Both pages had accurate content. The problem was how it was presented. That distinction matters: information architecture is what makes content useful, not just correct.

Email MarketingMailchimpAnalytics
Overview

Across 13 distinct Mailchimp newsletters I’ve designed, built, and deployed email communications for a wide range of TVA programs and regional audiences, managing subscriber lists, building campaigns, and coordinating content and schedules with program teams. When platform issues came up, I coordinated directly with Mailchimp’s support team to investigate and resolve them, keeping communications on track.

Managing 13 simultaneous newsletters taught me that scale requires systems, not just effort. Campaign design, list management, content coordination, scheduling, and analytics review are what make that volume possible.

Case Study 03 Accessibility Score 74 to 90+
SiteimproveQAAccessibility
Overview

These scores didn’t improve by accident. I used Siteimprove daily, not just as a monitoring tool, but as a governance system. That meant triaging issues by impact, partnering with content owners across business units to implement fixes, and following through until issues were actually resolved.

The Opportunity

When Siteimprove flagged platform-level false positives, I escalated directly to their support team and coordinated troubleshooting.

Approach
Daily monitoringOf QA, accessibility, SEO, and broken links.
Issue triageAnd prioritization by business impact.
Direct coordinationWith content owners across TVA.com.
Vendor escalationFor platform-level issues.
Documentation and trackingOf remediation progress.
Ongoing reportingOn site health and trends.

Both scores rose while exceeding the government industry benchmark, part of what earned Siteimprove Super User recognition in 2024.

Siteimprove global ranking 2024

This work changed how I think about accessibility. The most important realization: accessibility is not a project with an end date. It is a governance discipline. The organizations that maintain excellent scores are the ones who built daily habits to stay clean.

Case Study 04 Internal Communications & SharePoint
SharePointTVA TodayAnalytics
Overview

Beyond the public-facing TVA.com, I’ve also supported internal communications and SharePoint, keeping TVA Today content current, maintaining Employee and Leadership Development pages, and helping teams with content requests across internal platforms. This included publishing event information, managing Value Ad approvals, and providing analytics and performance insights to content owners across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Updated and maintained TVA Today homepage features, stories, announcements, and events
  • Assisted with header, footer, and page template updates across internal sites
  • Managed content updates and edits within SharePoint
  • Supported Employee and Leadership Development pages with content and maintenance

Internal communications work is where you learn that your audience is involuntary. Employees are sent to the intranet, unlike external visitors who choose to be there. The best way to build credibility in this kind of work is to be the person who just handles things.

Case Study 05 AI-Assisted Content Workflows
AI-Assisted DevelopmentContent Production
Overview

Practical skills in working with AI-assisted tools to get real work done faster and better, not as a novelty, but as a disciplined part of my workflow. This has meant accelerating page builds and code updates across TVA.com projects, improving content quality, and troubleshooting accessibility issues more efficiently, while making sure every output is evaluated carefully against TVA’s branding standards and requirements before anything goes live.

The Opportunity

The skill isn’t just knowing how to use these tools. It’s knowing how to brief them effectively, evaluate what comes back critically, refine the output, and take full ownership of the result.

A Disciplined Workflow

GenerateUse AI to produce a draft.

Owning the final result, not just generating a draft, is what makes this sustainable across every project it touches.

Content StrategyTraining & Documentation
Overview

Contribution isn’t just about volume. It’s about being the person the team can count on. I’ve contributed to major redesigns, accessibility initiatives, content strategy efforts, and digital communications campaigns while keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.

The Opportunity

Part of being a reliable team member is making sure knowledge doesn’t live only in your head. Building this kind of institutional knowledge base is exactly the kind of work that becomes more important as the team grows.
